Surviving Cancer One Healthy Thought at a Time

Diagnosed with Cancer?

You’re probably already following your doctors’ treatment recommendations, be they surgery, radiation, or chemotherapy. Did you know that there is another important tool available to you — your mind? Your mind can play an essential role in the healing process. Research has shown that cancer patients who can “re-frame” their thinking can dramatically improve their quality of life, decrease anxiety, improve sleep, and reduce pain, fatigue, and other symptoms. Additionally, new studies have shown that such re-framing can give a survival advantage to patients [check out the evidence: here].

Beat the Odds is a cancer treatment program that works. Based on the influential work of O. Carl Simonton, MD, the acclaimed oncologist, our scientifically proven techniques will help you sleep better, cope better, feel better, and improve your chances for getting well — in just ten weeks.

The voyage of Discovery is not in seeing new landscapes, but in having new eyes – Marcel Proust.

Our program will help you to:

• Feel stronger
• Reduce pain
• Boost your immune system
• Feel calmer before treatments or surgery
• Recover faster

And most importantly – strengthen your hope!

What We Can Do For You

Our faculty consists of experts in the field of psycho-oncology, who use the latest techniques of cognitive-behavior therapy and guided imagery to enhance the lives of their cancer patients.

The Tools for Healing

Beat the Odds gives you the tools to help you better cope with your cancer and treatment. After learning our effective techniques, you will be able to manage your symptoms, increase your motivation, and improve your quality of life.

In other words:

• Deal better
• Heal better
• Feel better

Beat the Odds® is not a support group. While we provide support, we focus on practical applications of the effective skills in a format of 10 weekly classes lasting two and a half hours each (see Program Schedule: here).

Harness the power of your mind to work for YOU!

We recommend attending the program with a support person (a spouse, a friend, or a family member; more than one are welcome). The support persons will learn how to improve communication and healing by gaining a greater understanding of their loved ones, and just as importantly — of themselves.

The cost of the program is covered by most insurance plans. Please call us to arrange for the initial individual evaluation. Come learn about our comprehensive cancer treatment program. Contact us by telephone at (562) 427 3897 or by email at info@beat-the-odds.org
